UC Davis College of Engineering 2018 Graduate Rankings

DAVIS, Calif.; March 16, 2017–The UC Davis College of Engineering continues to rank among the nation’s top public graduate engineering schools, according to the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings of America’s Best Colleges.

The report ranks the College of Engineering 20th among public institutions and 34th – tied with Boston University – among both public and private institutions. The report ranked a total of 198 public and private institutions.

Other highlights include:

  • 8th among public and private graduate biological/agricultural engineering programs
  • 12th among public and private graduate civil engineering programs (a four-way tie)
  • 15th among public and private environmental/environmental health engineering
  • $84 million in research expenditures, an increase of almost three million from last year. The average research expenditure per faculty member is $473,778.

The data was compiled by U.S. News & World Report. Graduate school rankings are based on a weighted average of factors including peer assessment, recruiter assessment, student selectivity, faculty resources, and research activity. Programs and specialty rankings are based solely on peer assessments by department heads in each area.
