At ESSC, there are many ways to start prototyping your idea. You can sign up for one of our ongoing workshops, offered throughout the academic year. You can also come to one of the many events organized by engineering student organizations such as the E-TEC club. Another option to learn the startup process in a structured way is to enroll in ECH 98, Creativity and Entrepreneurship for Engineers, a new course that teaches creative and entrepreneurial thinking from an engineer’s point of view by integrating lectures with hands-on activities within ESSC. Or, just drop by during our open hours to talk to one of our ESSC Student Managers and get started on your project.
ESSC offers early stage support and assistance to students as they take their academic knowledge and proven skills and translate them into innovative solutions. Our proximity to the ETTC facilities in Academic Surge facilitates cooperation between entrepreneurial students and faculty within the College of Engineering. ESSC also incorporates interaction with highly successful alumni entrepreneurs, programs in the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis, and national entrepreneurship organizations that can provide mentorship to emerging student-led startups. Best of all, ESSC is open to students of all disciplines and levels. No matter your idea or the stage of your project, come by and check us out!
