The College of Engineering offered a new entrepreneurship class for engineers during spring quarter 2014. ECH 98, “Starting and Prototyping a Technology Venture,” is a two-unit course that covers creativity and entrepreneurial thinking from an engineer’s perspective. Topics include: how to think creatively, characteristics for becoming a successful entrepreneur, techniques for recognizing and pursuing business opportunities, and how to solve technology problems relevant to customers. Student teams worked through the quarter to develop a business model for a technology venture. They also generated prototypes based on feedback from customers and users. The class will be offered again in the fall quarter 2014. More information at: http://engineering.ucdavis.edu/blog/new-entrepreneurship-class-makes-waves-uc-davis/
