Who We Are:
The College of Engineering plays a dynamic role in the mission of UC Davis, one of the nation's top public research universities. The College integrates teaching, research and service to society, advancing the leading edge of engineering knowledge and training the next generation of engineers who will make a difference in our world.
- Founded in 1962
- One of the largest undergraduate engineering programs in the UC system, with approximately 3000 undergraduate students.
- Offers the largest number (12) of undergraduate engineering majors in the UC system accredited by ABET, the recognized U.S. accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and technology.
- Undergraduate curriculum that adapts to meet student and industry needs. Newest majors: Optical Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Computational Applied Sciences.
- Participates in UC Davis's internship program, one of the largest in the nation.
- Undergraduate research opportunities, on faculty-student research teams.
- Highly accessible system of peer, staff and faculty advising, at both the departmental and the college levels.
- New state-of-the-art classroom and lecture facility opened in 2007.
- Ranked 4th among top 50 engineering programs in the nation for percentage of female faculty.
