3. Research Funding:

I have been actively involved in seeking extramural research funding to support my various research programs. I have been responsible for approximately $20 million dollars in research funds, including grants on which I am co-principal investigator. The sponsoring organizations include NSF, ARO, AFOSR, ONR, DOE, ARPA, David Taylor Naval Warfare Center, Naval Air Development Center and numerous industrial sponsors. In addition, I have been responsible for the acquisition (through equipment proposals or industrial donations), the installation and the operation of extensive laboratory facilities (in excess of 7,000 square feet), including: four spray processing facilities, two elevated temperature arc melters, x-ray diffraction equipment, hot iso static press, nanostructured materials synthesis equipment, complete thermal analysis laboratory, metal forming equipment, nano indenter, LENS Net Shape Fabrication facility, Instron facilities, CTE measurement equipment, computational facilities, dynamic mechanical analyzer, and numerous others.
