Staff Spotlight: Megan Villasenor

Megan Villasenor recently joined the College of Engineering as the Department of Biomedical Engineering’s (BME) Chief Operations Officer.

As part of her role, she provides leadership, oversight and management to the large and complex academic and translational research environment for the BME department. She has been with the University of California since 2006, and has spent time working at both the Davis and Berkeley campuses. Megan is also a passionate volunteer on campus and in her community.

Staff Spotlight: Leon Szeto

In January, UC Davis internally launched its new “Outgrow the Expected” brand campaign with a big 2020 Kickoff Celebration drawing more than one thousand staff and faculty. Chancellor May was joined by leaders throughout the university to articulate a vision designed to help UC Davis become better known, better understood and better supported. To align with campus’ vision, many College of Engineering staff have been collaborating throughout spring and summer to update and re-brand our college website. The new website will launch in September.

Staff Spotlight: Jose Mojica

Jose Mojica grew up in South Central Los Angeles and moved to UC Davis to pursue his biological and agricultural engineering degree. After graduating, he worked for the Air Quality Group at Crocker Nuclear Lab where he managed a group of engineers and student assistants that were responsible for maintaining a nationwide network of aerosol samplers for the Environmental Protection Agency. After his time at the Air Quality Group, he worked for DMG MORI Manufacturing USA Inc.

Engineering Staff Spotlight: CNM2 Research Administrator Paula Lee

The campus and College of Engineering have made significant investments in CNM2 in recent years and staff members like Paula Lee are key to the evolution and success of these shared facilities. Paula is a research administrator II who supports all administrative aspects of the CNM2.
