The Homemade Air Purifier That’s Been Saving Lives During the Covid-19 Pandemic
Smithsonian Magazine, March 7, 2022
Portable air filters typically cost hundreds of dollars, which puts them out of range for schools and other public spaces that face budget constraints. This is where the Corsi-Rosenthal box comes in. It’s a cube consisting of four to five off-the-shelf furnace filters topped by a standard box fan blowing outward. The units are simple, durable and easy to make, and are more effective than simply placing a single filter in front of a box fan.

Cross-campus collaboration leads to ‘smart prosthetics’ for amputee patients
UC Davis Health, January 12, 2022
An interdisciplinary team of UC Davis scientists and plastic and reconstructive surgeons is collaborating to help improve quality of life for patients with upper limb amputations. They are utilizing a novel amputation surgical procedure and smart prosthetics to help patients better control their residual muscles, receive sensory feedback and reduce limb pain.
Air quality expert says ditch cloth for N-95 masks
KGW, January 6, 2022
As cases of the omicron variant of COVID-19 surge, state health leaders are asking Oregonians to help stop the spread by taking safety precautions like physical distancing and wearing a mask.
KGW asked Dr. Richard Corsi, an internationally recognized expert on indoor air quality, about the best ways to protect one another. Corsi said cloth masks are not the right ones to wear.
