Showcases Makerspaces Research & Internships Student Orgs & Teams Networking

Design, Present & Learn

Explore building on your great ideas. In project-based design courses and mentorship experiences, students tackle open-ended challenges, prototype solutions and present their work in public showcases. These experiences spark creativity, build technical and communication skills and help students proudly identify as Aggie Engineers from the very beginning of their UC Davis journey.

Intro to Engineering Design

This course introduces students to the engineering design process through hands-on, workshop-based learning. Students develop solutions, strengthen communication skills and present their final projects in an end-of-quarter design showcase.

Engineering Design Showcase

This is the culminating capstone experience for graduating seniors. Interdisciplinary teams design and prototype real-world solutions, then present their work to industry partners, alumni and the public for expert feedback.

Mentorship Experience

The ESDC is a hub for hands-on engineering and prototyping at UC Davis. This 23,000-square-foot facility equips students with cutting-edge tools, expert guidance and collaborative space to design, build and bring ideas to life.
