Graduating undergraduate students of the UC Davis College of Engineering are invited to attend the 2026 Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony.
At this event, graduating engineers will recite the engineer's oath and sign the obligation of an engineer, promising to uphold devotion to the standards and dignity of the engineering profession. Participants will also receive their official Order of the Engineer ring. The Engineer’s Ring in the United States is a stainless steel ring, worn on the fifth finger of the working hand by engineers who have accepted the Obligation of an Engineer at the Ring Ceremony.
Also at this ceremony, graduating Computer Science students will recite their computing pledge and receive their pin that spells out HONOR in ASCII. The purpose of the pin's symbol is to remind the inductee to always honor their profession through their actions.
Eligibility for the Spring 2026 Ring Ceremony
UC Davis College of Engineering undergraduate students who will be graduating during either spring quarter 2026 or fall quarter 2026.
In order to participate in the Ring Ceremony, you must attend one of three ring sizing opportunities in Kemper 1065.
- Friday, April 24 from 12-2 p.m.
- Monday, April 27 from 1-3 p.m.
- Friday, May 1 from 12-2 p.m.
You must bring $12 in cash, exact change only, with you when you attend the ring sizing. No Venmo or other e-payments are allowed. Please also bring proof that you are graduating this spring or will graduate this fall.
More information will be provided after you have purchased your ring.
Computer Science Majors
Computer Science majors are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. As such, they are eligible to join The Pledge of the Computing Professional. To join, bring $10 in cash, exact change only, to one of the ring sizing opportunities. When you arrive, go to the front of the line to purchase your pin.
The ceremony for The Pledge of the Computing Professional will be held simultaneously with the Ring Ceremony. More information will be provided after you have purchased your pin.
