About the Speaker: Dr. Juliane Nguyen is Professor and Vice Chair in the Division of Pharmacoengineering and Molecular Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her lab’s research focuses on drug delivery and the development of complex biotherapeutics for cancer, myocardial infarction, colitis, and other diseases by integrating molecular engineering with pharmaceutical sciences. Her work has been published in Nature Communications, Nature Biotechnology, Advanced Functional Materials, Biomaterials, Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, and other key journals. Dr. Nguyen has received several awards, including the NYSTAR faculty award, the NSF CAREER Award, the CMBE Young Innovator Award, and the AAPS Emerging Leader Award. She received her Ph.D. from the Philipps-University of Marburg (Germany). She then trained at UCSF under Dr. Frank Szoka as a Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft Postdoctoral Fellow. Dr. Nguyen is a Fellow of CRS, AIMBE, and AAPS. She is a member of the NIH Drug and Biologic Therapeutic Delivery (DBTD) study section. Dr. Nguyen is the Executive Editor of Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews and an Associate Editor of Cellular and Molecular Bioengineering.
