Yesenia Cervantes-Tucker began her position in September of 2020 after transitioning from a two-decade career at UC Santa Cruz. She has vast experience managing, designing, implementing, and evaluating academic support programs for first-generation, low-income, marginalized and racially minoritized students. She has worked in various capacities and with diverse stakeholders to increase access to and preparation for higher education. She is excited to serve AvenueE students and is committed to creating opportunities that support their success through graduation and enhance their preparation for professional careers and/or graduate school. Yesenia’s background as a low-income, first-generation college graduate drives her commitment to educational access and success. She is a highly motivated and responsive leader who is equity minded, mission oriented, strategic, and collaborative.
