About the Speaker:

Sarah McKenney is an Aggie alumnus and an Associate Professor and Division Chief of Radiology Physics within the Department of Radiology at the University of California, Davis (UCD) Medical Center in Sacramento.

Dr. McKenney received a BS and BA in Physics and Studio Art from the University of Maryland, College Park. She obtained her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from UCD. She completed medical physics residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Dr. McKenney is a board certified Diagnostic Medical Physicist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). She provides quality assurance for diagnostic imaging systems including general x ray, fluoroscopy, mammography, and computed tomography.

 

Outside of her clinical duties, Dr. McKenney actively serves on a national level for a variety of organizations. She is Chair of the Pediatric Imaging Subcommittee and Communicating Advances in Radiation Education for Shielding (CARES) within the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). Dr. McKenney is the Chair of the CT Dose Index Registry for the American College of Radiology (ACR). She is a steering committee member of Image Gently.
