UC Davis Ranked Among the Nation’s Top Graduate Engineering Schools for More Than 15 Years

The UC Davis College of Engineering continues to be ranked among the premier programs in the nation for more than 15 consecutive years, according to U.S. News & World Report’s latest graduate engineering school rankings released on March 29, 2022.

The College of Engineering earned the rank of 35th nationally and in the top 13 percent among public universities surveyed. Its biological (third) and civil engineering (13th overall and eighth amongst public universities) graduate programs were ranked among the best in the country. The College jumped 10 spots in a single year in the computer engineering category.

“I am proud that our College of Engineering continues to be ranked amongst the best of public universities in the U.S.,” said Dean Richard L. Corsi. “We will continue to make significant investments to support a bold new strategic research vision. We will lead efforts to shape the future of energy, climate resiliency, population health, and mobility.“

The U.S. News and World Report ranking annually evaluates engineering graduate schools on a weighted score based on peer evaluations, research activity, student selectivity, and faculty resources (number of doctoral degrees, student-faculty ratios, percent of faculty in the National Academy of Engineering). Individual programs are based on peer assessments by department heads in each area.
