Current Engagement Opportunities and Events
|The State of Diversity in Engineering Summit – May 23, 2019
Led by four engineering-focused student organizations (Black Engineers Association, Chicano and Latino Engineers and Scientists Society, Pilipinx Americans in Science and Engineering and Society of Women Engineers), the State of Diversity in Engineering Summit will feature alumni and industry professionals for an evening of discussion on diversity and inclusion within the engineering field. Two panel discussions and networking will occur, along with a welcome by College of Engineering Dean Jennifer S. Curtis.
|Serve as Evaluator for Engineering Design Showcase – June 6, 2019
The Engineering Design Showcase is the culminating experience for graduating seniors. This event brings together project teams from all eight departments for an opportunity to share student designs with the public.
Industry partners and UC Davis College of Engineering alumni are invited to attend and see first-hand the work of our students. As an evaluator, you will be asked to provide specific feedback to a small number of teams as well as discuss the design process with team members. We hope to provide students with an opportunity to practice “pitching” their ideas in a setting similar to what they will find during their careers.
Visit the Evaluator Information webpage to learn more. To serve as an evaluator, please fill out the Volunteer Form by Wednesday, May 15.
|Support ENG 3 Design Showcase – June 10, 2019
ENG 3 – Introduction to Engineering Design is a 4-unit communication elective offered to over 160 College of Engineering undergraduates. Student teams diligently apply their engineering design, technology and communication skills to address “problems looking for a solution” on the UC Davis Student Farm.
Alumni are invited to attend the ENG 3 Design Showcase on June 10, 2019 to show support for students’ work and provide feedback on their communication and design skills. To serve as an evaluator, please fill out the Volunteer Form by Friday, May 24.
