Statement: Resources and Support for Those Impacted by Unrest in Iran

The following statement was issued today (Sept. 30) by Richard L. Corsi, dean of the College of Engineering.

The UC Davis College of Engineering has many past and present students, staff and faculty from or with strong ties to Iran. They are an important part of who we are as a community.

As dean of the college, I encourage you to read the statement from campus leadership, including Chancellor May, Provost Croughan and others, with resources and support for those impacted by unrest in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini.

Please know that resources are available to support and navigate the understandable anxiety and worry this situation has caused many. Aggie Mental Health is designed for students, while ASAP continues to be a resource for employees.

You may also connect with the Iranian Student Association, which includes many student leaders from the College of Engineering, to learn about additional opportunities to offer support.
