Caroline N. Jones serves as an Assistant Professor within the new joint Biomedical Engineering Program between UT Southwestern Medical Center and the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Jones is a Texas Instruments Faculty Fellow. Prior to joining UT Dallas in August 2020, she was an Assistant Professor in Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech (2015-2020). The Jones Lab is a multidisciplinary research team focused on bridging cutting edge engineering disciplines with immunology to prevent, diagnose, and treat immune-related disorders, such as sepsis. Dr. Jones was a recipient of the NIH NIGMS Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award (MIRA) (R35) and NSF CAREER award. She is also the member of several professional societies, including the Biomedical Engineering Society, Shock Society, American Association of Immunologists (AAI), and Society for Leukocyte Biology. Dr. Jones was an AAI Public Policy fellow in 2023 and continues to advocate for science and funding. She is a co-inventor on a patent and author or co-author on more than 30 scientific publications and two book chapters.
