We are pleased to host Prof. Paige Novak of the University of Minnesota to deliver a Civil & Environmental Engineering Distinguished Lecture at 12:10 pm on March 11th. Prof. Novak specializes in research on the biological transformation of hazardous substances or pollutants. Research in her group is particularly focused on how external environmental factors influence the biodegradation of these substances or how to enhance biodegradation. Prof. Novak works both in the laboratory and in the field, trying to understand the interactions between microorganisms and environmental conditions (such as electron donor concentration and redox conditions). A reception will follow Prof. Novak's lecture.
