Christopher Pribilo ’20, aerospace engineering, knew he wanted to study aviation from a young age. His grandfather was a pilot, and Chris was always fascinated by the controls and buttons in his small Cessna plane. Following an internship at United Airlines, Chris got a job at Boeing, where he currently works as a multi-discipline engineer doing stress analysis and service engineering for the 737 Max.
On May 9, 2021, our dear colleague, mentor and friend Tanya Whitlow passed away. A champion of student success at UC Davis for more than 25 years, Tanya designed, developed and directed the College of Engineering’s Leadership in Engineering Advancement, Diversity and Retention (LEADR) program. This innovative program aims to recruit, retain and graduate, diverse student populations from the College of Engineering.
As part of Black History Month, the UC Davis College of Engineering is engaging our faculty and staff in considering our roles in implicit bias and systemic racism. We all play a part in addressing these long-standing issues and are making spaces to have open, collective dialogue that moves our college and university forward.
